TUESDAYS WITH TIZ

The 7 UPS!

1. Wake Up!!

Decide to have a good day.

"This is the day the Lord hath made:

let us rejoice and be glad in it."

Psalm 118:24

2. Dress Up!!

The best way to dress up is to put on a smile.

A smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks.

"The Lord does not look at the things man looks at.

Man looks at outward appearance,

but the Lord looks at the heart."

1 Samuel 16:7

3. Shut Up!!

Say nice things and learn to listen.

God gave us two ears and one mouth,

so He must have meant for us to do twice

as much listening as talking.

"He who guards his lips guards his soul"

Proverbs 13:3

4. Stand Up!!

....for what you believe in.

Stand for something or you will fall for anything.

"Let us not be weary in doing good: for at the proper time.

we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good."

Galatians 6:9-10

5. Look Up!!

...to the Lord.

"I can do everything through Christ

who strengthens me."

Philippians 4:13

6. Reach Up!!

...for something higher.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart,

and lean not unto your own understanding,

In all your ways, acknowledge Him,

and He will direct your path."

Proverbs 3:5-6

7. Lift Up!!

...your Prayers.

"Do not worry about anything; instead

PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING."

Phillippians 4:6

"Father, I pray that everyone reading this post today will

pause and enjoy you as the source and strength of their life.

You truly are all we need to experience total Peace and Joy

today. In Jesus names, I pray." Amen

THANKFUL THURSDAY WITH JC

WHAT'S LOVE GOT TO DO, GOT TO DO WITH IT!!! belts Tina Turner.
Well, no disrespect to Ms. Turner, but love has everything to do with everything.

Scriptures say, "For God so loved that he gave..." John 3:16

The Bible is full of verses about love that I won't take the time to go into.

If you have ever read I Cor. 13 the love chapter, you know the characteristics of love. It says, love never fails.

That is the point of this very short post is "LOVE NEVER FAILS".

Without love we are nothing.

Father, I pray that all reading this post will feel Your love in that You love us totally and completely. We have done nothing deserving of Your love but You love anyway. How awesome you are. I praise You for the obedience of You Son that went to the cross because of LOVE. If there is one person reading this post that is lonely and in despair, I pray they accept the gift you gave in the love of Your Son, Jesus, our saviour. In Jesus' precious and powerful name I pray. Amen.

Call 911

Psalm 91:1 "He who dwells in the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty"

Psalm 91 is one of my favorite scriptures....I hope you will take the time to read the entire Psalm. It speaks of the security of the one who trusts in the Lord.

The first time I remember reading this Psalm was the morning of my Mother's funeral some twenty two years ago. This was a very painful time in my life and I knew I had to have help if I was to make it through that day. It was early in the morning when I got my Bible and "just happened" to turn to this Psalm. Now, friends, I continued to grieve but I knew comfort in the midst of my grief.

Psalm 91:1 is my 911 for Spiritual help!!!!

I promise you that if my body is bleeding I will pick up the phone and call 911 but if my innermost being is bleeding I will turn to Psalm 91:1.

"Father, I thank you that you always tenderly lead your children to the portion of your Word that will meet our need at that moment. I pray for someone reading this post today that needs a Word from You. Father, guide them to that special verse you have just for them today. In Jesus name, I pray." Amen

TUESDAYS WITH TIZ post published 10/21/08

Focus on Him

Isaiah 26:3 reads "thou wilt keep him in Perfect Peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee: because he trusteth in Thee"

We are living in a time when our minds are so bombarded with troubling news and circumstances that Perfect Peace seems unreachable (you read the same newspapers and listen to the same news programs I listen to). But God's Word tells us He will keep us in Perfect Peace if our mind is focused on Him. Why? Because when our minds are focused on Him we are trusting in Him. We are trusting ourselves to Him no matter what the circumstances are.

Will focusing on Him change circumstances and conditions around me? Probably not, because the circumstances and conditions around me are usually beyond my control. I do not ignore the conditions around me but I do not focus on them. I focus on Jesus, as The Way, The Truth and The Life. Jesus Christ himself is our Perfect Peace!!!!!

"Father, thank you for providing a way for me to have Perfect Peace by focusing my mind on you. I pray that every person reading this blog today will experience You as their Perfect Peace. I pray this prayer in the name of Jesus, my Perfect Peace. Amen"

He Touched Me

This past Sunday our church service was held at a lodge in the park. We celebrated our "Heritage of Faith" and we sang some of the old songs of the Faith. As a result I have gone around humming "He Touched Me" for two days!!! Join me in being blessed by this great song written by Bill Gaither in 1963.

He Touched Me

Shackled by a heavy burden,
'neath a load of guilt and shame;
Then the hand of Jesus touched me,
And now I am no longer the same.

He touched me, O, He touched me,
And O, the joy that floods my soul.
Something happened, and now I know,
He touched me and made me whole.

Since I met this blessed Savior,
Since He cleansed and made me whole;
I will never cease to praise Him,
I'll shout it while eternity rolls.

"Father, how I thank you for choosing to touch me and make me whole. Truly, I will never cease to praise you. I pray that someone reading this post today will experience a touch from you and feel your unconditional love for them. In Jesus name, I pray." Amen

THANKFUL THURSDAY WITH JC

I received this email and thought it was powerful! I hope it speaks to you as well.

THE BUZZARD:

If you put a buzzard in a pen that is 6 feet by 8 feet and
is entirely open at the top, the bird, in spite of its
ability to fly, will be an absolute prisoner. The reason is
that a buzzard always begins a flight from the ground with a
run of 10 to 12 feet. Without space to run, as is its habit,
it will not even attempt to fly, but will remain a prisoner
for life in a small jail with no top.

THE BAT:

The ordinary bat that flies around at night, a remarkable nimble creature in the air, cannot take off from a level place. If it is placed on the floor or flat ground, all it can do is shuffle about helplessly and, no doubt, painfully, until it reaches some slight elevation from which it can throw itself into the air. Then, at once, it takes off like a flash.

THE BUMBLEBEE:

A bumblebee, if dropped into an open tumbler, will be there until it dies, unless it is taken out. It never sees the means of escape at the top, but persists in trying to find some way out through the sides near the bottom.. It will seek a way where none exists, until it completely destroys itself.

PEOPLE:

In many ways, we are like the buzzard, the bat, and the bumblebee. We struggle about with all our problems and frustrations, never realizing that all we have to do is look up! That's the answer, the escape route and the solution to any problem! Just look up.

Sorrow looks back, Worry looks around, But faith looks up!

Live simply, love generously , care deeply, speak kindly and trust in our Creator who loves us.

It's OK to play

"Unless you are converted and become like a little child, you cannot enter the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 18:3

A few days ago Jen posted about having the faith of a child. Now, that is the type of faith we all can experience. It is not a faith where we are irresponsible. It is a faith where we are trusting.

Observe a little child. He is not worrying about the future. He believes he will be fed....he will have roof over his head...and he will have clothes on his back. He just believes his daddy will take care of his needs so he goes out and plays. The world is his playground.

If I come to my heavenly Father with a child like attitude I will trust Him with all the details of my life and I will go out and play!!!! Sometimes the most spiritual thing I can do is have a playful attitude. Not being irresponsible but having an absolute trust in a sovereign Father who will provide my every need. My Abba Father has given me the privilege of being His Princess so I can relax and play knowing He has worked out the details of my life for His glory and my good. Do I hear a Praise????

"Abba Father, what a joy it is to know that you are providing for my every need. I pray that someone reading this post today will see you and your provisions with a child like faith and will give themselves permission to relax and play. In Jesus name, I pray." Amen
