TUESDAYS WITH TIZ

God is in control

"The LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away;blessed be the name of the LORD" Job 1:21

A few days ago I tuned in to Turning Point with Dr. David Jeremiah. He is teaching a series on the Book of Job. A Princess named Heidi gave a testimony about losing her home in a wild fire. She and her family left their home when the fire was within a few feet of their house feeling sure this would be the last time she would see her house. Her spirit and her attitude were just incredible as she shared about the sovereignty of God even though she and 1600 other families lost their houses.

Heidi stated that she never ask "Why" because she truly believed that God was in control and if He was in control then this event in her life was God's will and she took comfort in that fact. She further stated that she knew God would provide her every need and it was just awesome to see Him work. This event was another adventure in trust and an opportunity for God to bless her.

I was so blessed to hear this testimony and even as I type this post my heart is rejoicing in knowing that the Awesome God I love, trust, worship and serve will always take care of and provide my every need just like He did for Heidi. Either He is in control of everything or He is in control of nothing. Praise, Praise, Praise !!!

"Father, I praise you today for who you are and I thank you for being so real to me. I ask you to bless someone reading this post with an awareness of your love and concern for them. In Jesus precious name, I pray." Amen

Tuesdays with Tiz

Two years ago this month Jen introduced me to the world of Blogging when she ask me to write Tuesdays with Tiz on Prayerfully Yours. The following post which posted May 20, 2008 was my first. I trust you will be blessed as I was when I read it this week.

Hello, My Name is Tiz, May I Take your Order Lord?

"But they that wait upon the Lord will renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles;they shall run, and not be weary;and they shall walk, and not faint." Isaiah 40:31

"Father, I want to be your server today - what could I serve you?"

"Tiz, I want you to bring me a big bowl of TRUST, a plate of UNDIVIDED ATTENTION, a tall glass of PRAISE, a side order of WORSHIP and a bowl of COMMITMENT. All your service is to be JOYFUL, PEACEFUL, PATIENT, and with a GOOD ATTITUDE. All courses are to originate direct from MY WORD (no TV preacher, no good books, no opinions - yours or someone else's). I want you to be the Chef, The Server and the Dish Washer. And for dessert I want another big bowl of TRUST!!!!"

I thought this sounded like an awfully big order until He reminded me of the PRICE HE HAD PAID FOR IT!!!! - then all I could do was thank HIM for choosing ME to be His server.

You notice He did not ask me to bring him an order of LOVE - guess he just wants me to TRUST Him as much as I love Him.

TUESDAYS WITH TIZ

He Knows it all

"Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to who we must give account." Hebrews 4:13 (NIV)

I used to have the idea that God was in His heaven watching to see what He could catch me doing wrong so He could zap me. It never dawned on me that He already knew my next step and my next thought. Thank God, I have been deliverd from that "big God..sorry me" mentality. I now have a "loving King..precious Princess" mentality!!!! I am typing myself into the Glory Zone again!!

True, God knows when I mess up, when I get disgusted, when my thoughts are everything but beautiful and when I am less than faithful to Him. And since nothing is hidden from His sight, He also sees when I choose not to sin, when I choose not to yeild to temptations, when I choose not to gossip and when I resist negative thoughts!!! He knows when I speak a kind word to a stranger or give a bouquet of roses to someone whose name I do not know. Thank God, He knows it all!!!

"Father, what a joy it is to know and serve an all knowing God. Thank you for letting me see myself the way you see and love me. I pray that you will bless that person reading this post who longs to experience you as the loving God you are. Bless that person with a "loving King...precious Princess" mentality. In Jesus Loving Name, I pray." Amen

"Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus" (continued)

Last week I referred to this hymn in my post and I have hummed it off and on all week. One little problem, I did not know all the words so, as my post this week, I thought I would post the words for you...and for me. Let these words sink deep into your spirit and truly trust Him.

'Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to take Him at His Word;
Just to rest upon His promise,
And to know, "Thus saith the Lord!"
.
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I've proved Him o'er and o'er;
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
Oh, for grace to trust Him more!
.
Oh. how sweet to trust in Jesus.
Just to trust His cleansing blood;
And in simple faith to plunge me
'Neath the healing, cleansing flood!
.
Yes, 'tis sweet to trust in Jesus.
Just from sin and self to cease;
Just from Jesus simply taking
Life and rest, and joy and peace.
.
I'm so glad I leaned to trust Thee,
Precious Jesus, Savior, Friend;
And I know that Thou art with me,
Wilt be with me to the end.
.
This song was written in 1882 by Louisa M.R. Stead, shortly after her husband drowned!!!! What a testimony of TRUST IN JESUS.
