Put away Bitterness

"Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice." Eph. 4:31

My pastor is preaching/teaching through the Book of Ephesians and has come to the subject of bitterness. Personally, I believe if bitterness is dealt with in the life of a believer then over half the battle has been won. We make a choice of whether or not to let a root of bitterness grow in us. Bitterness in the life of a believer causes a lot of health problems, damaging the Temple of God. Bitterness can become a lifestyle and takes away the joy in our lives, even the Joy of my relationship with God. Bitterness destroys relationships...who wants be be around a bitter person who is obsessed with negative speaking!!! I would rather listen to someone "cuss" as to listen to them speak negative.....I am NOT typing myself into the Glory Zone!!!

Bitterness says "God, I don't trust you." What is the cure? I will deal with that in my next post.

"Father, I thank you for loving me even when the spirit of bitterness attempts to attach itself to me. I am thankful that, in You, I can refuse to entertain that damaging spirit of bitterness. Be especially dear to someone reading this post who is experiencing bitterness. Show them that You are their answer. In Jesus forgiving name, I pray." Amen

Created to Become Like Christ

"The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord" Psalm 37:23

God's ultimate goal for my live on earth is not my comfort but my character development. His goal is to conform me to the image of His Son.(read Romans 8:28-29)

Friends, our loving God will do whatever is necessary to accomplish His purpose in our lives. With God, there are no accidents!!! I may think I have had a rough day or a rough week but God will use every circumstance in my life to conform me to the image of His Son... even to the point of allowing difficult people to cross my path. I cannot conform myself to His image...that is the Holy Spirit's job. My part is to yield to His will in my life and make choices that line up with God's Word. I take my hands off my life and let Him work even when it does not feel good. I just choose to trust Him and His Word even when I do not understand...after all we walk by Faith and not by our feelings. I am typing myself into the Glory Zone again!!!

"Father, I praise you and worship you today. I thank you that I can trust you in all circumstances in my life. I pray for someone reading this post today who is having a difficult time making sense of their circumstances. Help them to totally release the situation to you and experience the joy of you working your perfect will in their life. In Jesus name, I pray" Amen.
